Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has earned the No.1 spot in the Men’s Test bowler rankings due to his heroics in the second Test match against England in Vizag. For the first time, the Indian pacer has become the No.1 Test bowler.

Jasprit Bumrah has risen to the top for the first time. Due to his excellent bowling, he took 9 wickets and gave 91 runs. India won the second Test match by 106 runs and levelled the series by 1-1.

As Jasprit Bumrah took nine wickets in the match he was awarded with Player of the Match award. During the second Test match, he moved three places up in the Test rankings in bowlers. He also took away the spot of Ravichandran Ashwin. Since the last match, the Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was on the top spot. Ravichandran Ashwin could manage to take only three wickets against England in the second Test match. Ravichandran Ashwin has now placed in the third spot in the current rankings.

Jasprit Bumrah for the first time has finished at the top spot

The South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is locked in the No.2 spot. Even though he is not in the squad for the Test series against New Zealand.

In 2024 against South Africa in Cape Town, he picked two five wickets with a bowling figure of 6/61. During the second Test match, he took 6 wickets and gave only 45 against England in the first innings.

After picking a five-wicket haul against Afghanistan in the only Test match the Sri Lankan spinner Prabath Jayasuriya has leapt into the third position. Australian spinner Nathan Lyon who has taken 500 wickets in Tests has moved to 6th position. While Ravindra Jadeja and Ollie Robinson have No.9 and No. 10 respectively.
