As India recovered wonderfully after receiving a shock from 33 for 3 on Day 1 they went on to score 445 runs against England in the third Test match in Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. Earlier on Day 2 Ravindra Jadeja’s knock of 112 runs came to an end as Joe Root to his wicket and pacer Jame Anderson got Kuldeep Yadav. Later Dhruv Jurel and Ravichandran Ashwin put on a 77-run partnership for the eight wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj added a 45-run partnership as India posted a total of 445 runs before getting all-out. In reply to the huge total England opener Ben Duckett went on to play with a full aggressive style of batting against India’s pace attack. But India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took the wicket of Zak Crawley for 15 runs. This wicket marked his 500 Test wicket in his career.

Ben Duckett dominates India

Ravichandran Ashwin becomes the only second Indian after Anil Kumble to take 500 Test wickets. He also became the second fastest bowler behind Muttaiah Muralidaran to take 500 wickets as he reached the landmark from 184 matches.

Ollie Pope joined Ben Duckett from the other end. As Ben Duckettc changed his gears, he went on to score with hard-hitting as he outclasses the India spin attack with sweep and reverse sweep shots. He scored his century from just 88 balls which includes 19 fours and one six only. Ben Duckett also scored the fastest-ever Test century by an England batter against India. Mohammed Siraj got the wicket of Ollie Pope on 39 runs.

At the end of Day 2 England posted a score of 207 runs at the loss of 2 wickets as they were behind by 238 runs against India. Joe Root remains not out on 9 runs. While Ben Duckett is unbeaten on 138 runs from 118 balls.
