MS Dhoni’s batting has been a revelation in IPL 2023. The CSK skipper has a proper role to play. He comes in at number 7, whacks the big hits and gives CSK a nice finish while batting first. If CSK is chasing, MS Dhoni weaves his magic. He almost achieved an improbable win over Rajasthan Royals earlier in the season. Though MS Dhoni’s bulky biceps made a lot of headlines. He has been hit with persistent knee troubles.
Irfan Pathan also pointed it out in the CSK-DC clash. “Seeing Dhoni limping thru running between the wickets breaks my heart. Have seen him run like a cheetah”. Irfan said. The issues with his knee have not stopped him from coming out and doing his bit for CSK and also in a way he continues to play for the fans. In a recent conversation with Suresh Raina, he revealed that he wants to win what would be a fifth IPL title for CSK. He further said that he will win the trophy this year and then play for another year.

Stephen Fleming also pointed out that MS Dhoni is working on his big hitting and it is paying off. There were reports saying that this would be MS Dhoni’s last IPL season. But he confirmed to Danny Morrison that he will come back to the IPL and then to Raina as well. MS Dhoni has led CSK to four titles in the IPL. CSK have been going great guns and it looks like they could win their fifth title in the IPL.
CSK are currently in second position on the points table. They are on 15 points after their 27-run win against DC. They have won seven games and lost four. One of the games against Lucknow Super Giants was rained out. Under MS Dhoni’s leadership, CSK has reached the IPL playoffs 11 times which highlights the consistency of the franchise. CSK have their next game at home against Kolkata Knight Riders.
