India drew the fourth and final Test against Australia at Ahmedabad and also retained the Border -Gavaskar trophy with a 2-1 margin. This is the fourth time that India have beaten Australia in the BGT. India will play the Test Championship final against Australia at the Oval from 7th and 11th June in England.

Virat Kohli registered his 28th century in Tests on Sunday in the fourth Test. The former India captain had last scored a Test hundred in November 2019. The Delhi-batter slammed an impressive 186 off 364 balls, including fours. The talisman had to go through the hard grind to get his runs against a good Australian attack.

India responded well after Australia had put on 480 in the first innings. The Indian reply was led by Shubman Gill, who scored a superlative 128 off 235 balls with 12 fours and one six. It was his second Test hundred and first century on home soil.

On Day 4, Kohli got the required help from KS Bharat, who made a quick-fire 44 off 88 balls with two fours and three sixes. With Shreyas Iyer injured, someone needed to step up with the bat and it was Axar Patel.

The left-handed-batter scored a well-crafted 79 off 113 balls with five fours and four sixes. Axar went on the offensive and took the bowlers to the sword. Thanks to those valuable contributions, India ended up scoring a huge score of 571 runs.

The pitch at the Narendra Modi stadium had the best batting conditions on offer. Both Teams made good use of it and racked up big totals. For Australia, Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green were the standouts. Khawaja amassed 180 off 422 ball, while Green also scored his maiden Test century, collecting 114 runs off 170 balls, including 18 fours.

India recorded a dominating win at Nagpur by an innings and 132 runs. At Delhi, India blew Australia in a session, courtesy of Ravindra Jadeja, who picked up 7-42 with the ball. Australia fought hard at Indore to win by 9 wickets but it was not enough.
