Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has offered an encouraging update on the fitness status of some of the team’s crucial players Rishabh Pant, Anrich Nortje, and Jhye Richardson, ahead of the highly anticipated IPL 2024 season. These three players are considered vital cogs in the Delhi Capitals’ machinery, and their availability will significantly impact the team’s performance in the upcoming tournament.

The biggest sigh of relief came with the news of Rishabh Pant‘s recovery from the car accident he suffered in December 2022. Jindal stated that Pant is progressing well and is on track to be ready for the IPL. This is a major boost for the Delhi Capitals, as Pant is not only their captain and star wicket-keeper batsman but also a charismatic leader who inspires the entire team.

His aggressive batting style and ability to finish matches single-handedly make him a true match-winner. Jindal confirmed that initially, Pant will only play as a batter, and it will be assessed if he can keep wickets during the latter half of the tournament.

Delhi Capitals
The Delhi Capitals were plagued by injuries to key players last season and hence, they will breathe a sigh of relief at the moment.

Updates on pacers!

Anrich Nortje, the South African speedster, has been battling a hip injury that kept him out of action for a significant period. However, Jindal assured fans that Nortje is working hard on his rehab and is likely to be available for the start of the IPL. Nortje’s fiery pace and ability to consistently clock over 150 kmph make him a potent weapon in the Delhi Capitals’ bowling attack.

“He’s fit. Right now, he is bowing at 80% intensity. Next week, he will bowl at 100%. He’s going to make his comeback in the IPL. He is going to join our camp and should be good to go for our first game,” he said.

Jindal also provided an update on Jhye Richardson, the Australian fast bowler, who has been laid low by plenty of injuries. Jindal is hoping that the 27-year-old will be available for the latter part of the IPL as he continues to recover from a side strain. “He’s touch and go but will definitely be available for some part of IPL,” said Jindal.

The positive updates on Pant, Nortje, and Richardson provide a significant boost to the Delhi Capitals’ morale as they gear up for IPL 2024. The team management will be hoping that these key players can stay fit and perform to their full potential throughout the tournament. With a strong core and a well-balanced squad, the Delhi Capitals will be aiming to challenge for their maiden IPL title in the upcoming season.
