For the first time in five years, the team has lost five consecutive and is searching for their first win. Meanwhile, adding salt to the wounds, their pacer, Kamlesh Nagarkoti has gotten injured and has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament.
The 2018 U19 World Cup winner has sustained a back injury, adding himself to the list of injured players in the tournament. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Prasidh Krishna, etc have already been ruled out of the tournament. Notably, Nagarkoti was yet to play a game in the ongoing edition. The right-arm pacer didn’t play any competitive cricket in the ongoing calender year.

The 2020 finalists needs to keep winning from now on if they want to keep themselves alive for the race to the playoffs. Last year, they missed out on the playoffs by only one win.
