‘Bada hee harkati insaan hai’ – Fans react as Virat Kohli teases Shubman Gill while fielding in WTC 2021-23 Final

The WTC Final for 2021-23 cycle is being played between India and Australia at the Oval, London

On Day 3 of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 Final, Australia dramatically increased their grip on the match after an atypical session ended in India’s benefit. India scored 296 from a score of 151/5 overnight before getting dismissed by the lethal Australian pacers. Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja both contributed significantly with scores of 51 and 48 in addition to Ajinkya Rahane’s valiant 89 runs off 129 balls.

The Australian team’s captain Pat Cummins had the best bowling statistics with 3/83 in 20 overs. While Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland, and Cameron Green all returned with two wickets, Nathan Lyon only had one. Australia’s collective bowling effort allowed them to enter the second innings with a 173-run lead.

As such, while fielding on Day 4, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill shared a moment sparking reaction online. Virat Kohli tries to grab a hold of Shubman Gill’s groin area and the young batter reacts in defense. The hilarious moment’s photos and videos have gone viral on Twitter with fans reacting plentifully.

Australia started Day 4 with a lead of 296 runs

With a score of 123/4, Australia started Day 4 with a 296-run lead over India who were bundled out for 296 in their first over. Talking of Australia’s second innings performance, David Warner edged an outswinger from Mohammed Siraj and India, allowing KS Bharat to quickly grab a low catch giving India an early breakthrough. After tea, Umesh Yadav directed Usman Khawaja, the other Australian opener, to the pavilion.

The partnership between Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne held up after the two game-openers were taken out. On Day 3, Australia lost its third wicket as a result of Smith’s struggles against Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja was able to continue his massacre and get rid of the two centurions from the first inning thanks to Travis Head’s dismissal. Umesh Yadav scalped Marnus Labuschagne early on Day 4, picking up the edge for an easy catch to Cheteshwar Pujara in the slips.  However, Australia have extended their lead over India to 339 runs in 66 overs with five wickets still in hand. It would not be wrong to say that Australia already have one hand on the Test Mace.
