Giannis Antetokounmpo plays for the Milwaukee Bucks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has back-to-back NBA Player of the Year awards in 2019 and 2020. In 2020 he was also named NBA defensive player of the year. He has stamped his authority at NBA on the World stage. On Sunday he entertained fans at Inter Miami with the signature Cristiano Ronaldo celebration.
Antetokounmpo recently acquired a stake in the MLS Club Nashville FC. The Club did very well in the current season and made it to the finals of the Leagues Cup. Nashville lost out on penalties in a hard-fought final to Inter Miami. The celebration meant that the fans understood as to whose camp Antetokounmpo stood on. It implied that he was a Cristiano Ronaldo supporter. Antetokounmpo though had a lot of time for Lionel Messi and gave his respect as one of the top players in the beautiful game.

“It’s gonna be the first time I’m rooting against Messi. I expect both teams to play at a high level, but at the end of the day. … When I was playing in the NBA Finals two years ago, I enjoyed every single minute. Antetokounmpo said. “You can never have this moment back. You can never take it for granted. You never know if you’re going to be here again at this stage, so, playing a final game against one of the greatest players to ever play this game, I know that our guys are going to come out, play hard, play together and try to get a win.” he added.
When it came to the match Nashville went down to Miami 10-9 on penalties. Antetokounmpo will hope that going forward his club sees an upward curve and that they can get their hands on the trophy next season. On Mar. 2, 2023, Nashville went ahead and made the announcement that Giannis Antetokounmpo became a part-owner of the club. Antetokounmpo said owning a football club was always on his bucket list.
