India and Australia will face off against each other in a four-match Test series set to get underway on February 9. For the unversed, the Indian team are squaring off against New Zealand in the ongoing T20I series with the final T20I slated on February 1, Wednesday and the series is tied at present with both teams winning one match apiece.

That being said, the Baggy Greens led by pacer Pat Cummins left for India on Tuesday and will head to Bengaluru for a four-day camp to prepare for the series and get adapted to the spinning conditions. The team under the coaching of Andrew McDonald will leave no stone unturned to clinch the win in what can be called one of the tough conditions to play in.

Although weather would not play a role, the spinning tracks could come as trouble for the Baggy Greens pacer who would give it their all to clinch the win. Prior to boarding the flight to the Indian subcontinent, the Australian team had a training camp at the North at Bon Andrews Oval in their backyard.

Australia to train at Alur ahead of much-awaited series

The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy when they toured Australia in 2020/21 defeating the team for the second consecutive time under Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy, with the final Test being the well-known Gabba Test.

“The surfaces we got are very similar to what we’re going to confront in India, which is very difficult to replicate. We feel as though we’ve got close to that, so the ground staff have done a fantastic job,” McDonald was quoted as saying to Fox Cricket after the training camp at Bon Andrews Oval. Rohit and his men, on the other hand, are giving it their all and getting the fitness issue sorted ahead of the series.

Virat Kohli, the Indian superstar, had a dismal outing in the Tests vs Bangladesh in December 2022 and announced his comeback in the white-ball, Kohli getting back to form in the longest format of the game would be pivotal for India in the series.
