As for the match, MI won by 27 runs after posting 218/5 on the scoreboard. GT huffed and puffed but could only make 191/8 in the run chase. Rashid Khan was the hero from the GT side as he took 4 wickets in the first inning and also hit a brilliant 79 off 32 while chasing the total.
The Afghan player hit 10 sixes and 3 fours at the Wankhede Stadium. His knock however went in vain as the rest of the batters could not help bring the total in reach. With this win, MI have moved to 3rd on the points table. GT meanwhile remain at first with 16 points in 12 matches.
