The Gujarat franchise stunned everyone at the Indian T20 League as they put together a side in 2022 which consisted of players who did not play T20 cricket and also were not in the best of form at that time. But the likes of David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Shubman Gill, Lockie Ferguson and Hardik Pandya proved everyone wrong and won the tournament.
A year later, they revamped their side going into the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League. Two of the most surprising omissions were Rahmanullah Gurubaz and Ferguson, who were both traded to the Kolkata franchise. Here we look at three players who were part of Gujarat last year but went unsold in the 2023 auction which was a mini-auction.
Gurkererat Singh Mann is an Indian player, who has had some presence in the Indian T20 League. He has scored 511 runs at an average of 21.29 and a strike rate of 121.09. He has played for teams such as Bangalore and Punjab. Mann is also someone who can be handy with the ball with his off-spin.
In 2022, he did not play a single game for Gujarat in the Indian T20 League. He was primarily a middle-order batter and this was one facet where Gujarat’s batting was very strong so he could not break into a famed middle order with the likes of Miller, Tewatia and Pandya.
