Virat Kohli is one of the best batters in world cricket at the moment. Kohli is one of the most free-stroking players of the cricket ball India has seen in recent times. The former Indian captain developed a daredevil mindset in Indian cricket and made sure that India kept winning more matches and series abroad, especially in Tests. Under Kohli, India won the 2018 Test series in Australia and also in 2021 although it was Ajinkya Rahane who led the side. Under Kohli India and England had a hard-fought Test series in 2021 which ended 2-2.
In a recent interaction with Star Sports, Kohli said that he cherishes and remembers his battles with Pat Cummins and James Anderson “I’ve loved my battles Vs Jimmy Anderson and Pat Cummins”. Kohli said. Kohli and James Anderson have had a very sea-saw battle. While Anderson had the wood over Kohli in the 2014 England tour. Kohli was a different beast in 2018 altogether. In 2014 Kohli struggled against Anderson and his reverse swing. In 2018 Kohli changed his technique and had Anderson running for cover.

When it comes to Kohli and Cummins, Kohli has acknowledged on various platforms and interviews that Cummins is a tough bowler to face. The pacer with his immaculate lines and lengths is a threat to any batter and Cummins and Kohli have had wonderful battles as well. When it comes to battles with bowlers, Kohli and Mitchell Johnson in 2014 was a sight to behold. The 34-year-old has had great battles against Mitchell Starc as well. The two were teammates at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Kohli would want to get his best form back before the Asia Cup ends. Against Pakistan, which was India’s first Asia Cup game, he chopped one back onto his stumps off Shaheen Afridi for just 4 off 7 balls. Kohli did not get to bat in the game against Nepal as India won by 10 wickets. Even in the ODI’s against West Indies, Kohli only played the first game.
