Major League Cricket has got off to a rousing start in the USA. The American public has enjoyed cricket coming into their shores and is very pleased with the slam-bang cricket that has been on show in their country. The batters have bossed the conditions and also there has been a lot of help for the fast bowlers and the spinners. The only thing has been a loss of early wickets but the middle-order batters have more than made up with their belligerent hitting.
While it has all been bright and rosy for the American fans. The same cannot be said about the Los Angles Knight Riders (LAKR). The main reason for their losses has been the overdependence on Andre Russell to bail them out of crisis situations. While Jason Roy has also contributed, their top order has not been up to the mark. It has been very brittle which has made things very complex for them. On the other hand, it has not been an easy job leading the side for Sunil Narine.

The side has not done well. On a personal note, Narine has picked up only three wickets from four games. His return with the bat has also been very paltry. It has not been a great start for them and it looks very difficult for them to find a way back into the tournament. It remains to be seen whether they can win their last few games and salvage some pride for themselves, and their fans. They are the first team to get knocked out in the race for the MLC playoffs.
LAKR’s campaign has unfolded as follows. They have lost all their four games so far in the tournament and it is very unlikely that they will make it to the playoffs. In their first game, they were bowled out for 112 chasing a stiff total of 186 against Texas Super Kings (TSK). Then against MI New York (MINY), they put on a performance that they would like to forget where they were bundled out for just 50 while chasing a score of 156.
In their third game against the San Francisco Unicorns, they lost by 21 runs as they failed to get past a target of 213 in their 20 overs. In the fourth game, Washington Freedom chased down 176 to register their first win in the tournament.
