Sunrisers Hyderabad have headed to Lucknow Super Giants for their second match of the Indian Premier League season after suffering a significant loss to Rajasthan Royals for their opening match. After taking the team’s captaincy during their first game, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will now delegate that duty to Aiden Markram.
The Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, defeated the Delhi Capitals by 50 runs in their first match at home before falling to the Chennai Super Kings by 12 runs on Monday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The match will be the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium’s second IPL game ever. Lucknow won an important toss as it was a low scoring pitch as indicated by the players as well as the experts. Both the teams opted for spin-dominant teams and were ready for the tight game from the start.
Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a good start through Anmolpreet Singh even though they lost Indian superstar Mayank Aggarwal early. Krunal Pandya started the proceedings for the hosts as he scalped three key wickets in the form of Anmolpreet Singh, Aiden Markarm as well as Mayank Aggarwal.
Ravi Bishnoi, the upcoming Indian team star also supported the team well as he got the wicket of Hyderabad’s marquee signing Harry Brook. The Lucknow bowlers didn’t give the SRH batters any option but to take singles. LSG skipper KL Rahul was also pretty precise with their bowling options as well as the field setting for his bowlers. Rahul Tripathi and Washington Sundar took their time but were accumulating a lot of dot balls as well. The dot balls would surely hurt them later on in the match and can prove to be the reason for a low total.
But a set batter in the form of Rahul Tripathi ensured that he took the game to the bowlers in the death overs. But the youngster Yash Thakur got the key wicket in the 18th over as Amit Mishra completed a magnificent catch. In the end, because of a fighting knock from Abdul Samad got SRH to a paltry score of 121/8 in their 20 overs.
Fans react to a lackluster batting performance by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL match against LSG : –
LSG restricted SRH to just 121/8 – a top bowling performance by LSG spinners.
