‘Ye kya ho raha hai bhai’ -Fans react as venue for Super Games in Asia Cup 2023 was undicided, but matches stay in Colombo
Nepal have not made to the Super Four stages as they have lost both their games.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) had a change of heart. Due to heavy rains in Colombo, they decided to shift the Super Four matches to Hambantota. But now they have decided to stick to the original plan and hold it in Colombo. Although the weather in Colombo was iffy to start with, it has shown great positive signs ahead of the Super Four fixtures and so the matches shall stand as they are in Colombo.
As per a report from PTI, the ACC held meetings with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), hosts Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the official broadcaster before arriving at the decision to keep the matches in Colombo itself. Star Sports who was broadcasting the games for the Asia Cup 2023 said that it would not be feasible to shift the equipment from Colombo to Hambantota on such short notice. Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC) had suggested to the ACC to use Hambandota as an alternate venue as the weather was the brightest there.
India and Pakistan made it to the Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2023 with three points
The first game of the Super Four will be played on September 10 between India and Pakistan at the R Premadasa stadium in Colombo. In the first fixture, India were bowled out for 266 by the Pakistan bowlers. The Men in Blue had a top-order collapse. But the repair work was done remarkably by Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan. Pandya made a stellar 87 off 90 balls with seven fours and one six. Kishan cracked a splendid 82 off 81 balls with nine fours and two sixes batting at number four for India.
Dambulla and Pallekele were also looked at as options. But none of them were considered at the end. Nepal were out of the Asia Cup because they lost to Pakistan and India by 238 runs and 10 wickets respectively. The two arch-rivals advanced to the Super Four stage with three points each. Fans will hope that rain stays away and they get to see proper cricket games being played come the Super Four stage. India last won the Asia Cup in ODI format in 2018.

Now I know why they are doing this. They very well know that India is in no position to win this tournament so they want this tournament not to happen. π€£
