The final of the Caribbean Premier League took place between The Barbados Royals and the Jamaica Tallawahs, which took place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The toss was won by the Barbados Royals who opted to bat first. They got off to a great start with Rahkeem Cornwall and Kyle Mayers smashing the Tallawahs bowlers all over. Cornwall scored a quickfire 36 from 21 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes.
Kyle Mayers the skipper continued his good form through the tournament scoring a quick 29 from 19 balls with 6 fours. Fabian Allen got both the openers out and sent them back to the pavilion. Pakistani star Azam Khan scored an impressive 51 from just 40 balls, smashing four fours and three sixes. Fabian Allen scalped Azam as well.
Then there was a collapse as Imad Wasim and Nicholson Gordon as they took 4 wickets between them as they dismissed Jason Holder Najibullah Zadran, Corbin Bosch, and Devon Thomas. The Barbados Royals lost their last four wickets for not many runs, and they ended up on 161-7 in their 20 overs.
Considering that this was a final with runs on the board playing a crucial role psychologically, Barbados Royals looked to make a match out of this with the total that they had got on the board.
But this did not happen in the second innings, as the Jamaica Tallawahs who have had the experience of winning three titles made it count in the big chase as they did not break a sweat when they had to hunt the runs down.
The innings for the Tallawahs were led by a whirlwind knock from Brandon King who tore into the Barbados Royals’ bowling attack and decimated them. He scored a match-winning 83 not out from just 50 balls with 13 fours and 3 sixes. This gave the platform for the Jamaica Tallawahs as they romped home in just 16 overs with a superb finish from Samarh Brooks who scored a superb 47 from 33 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes.
The winning six from Brandon King gave the Jamaica Tallawahs their third Caribbean Premier League Title.

What a triumph for Jamaica Tallawahs, toppling the form team of the tournament!
Brandon King with an excellent knock.
It is a pity that Shamarh Brooks is 33 now. He continues to look good at the crease.
