Welsh Fire will take on the Northern Superchargers in Match 26 of the Hundred Men‘s 2022 at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. With six defeats in six matches, Welsh Fire has failed to change their fortunes around. The Josh Cobb-led side will be desperate to break their duck in their final home game of the tournament, against the Northern Superchargers.
On the other hand, the Northern Superchargers are coming off a fighting loss against the Manchester Originals in a high-scoring game. The Faf du Plessis-led side has been good in patches but has struggled to put on a complete performance. They are currently struggling at the seventh position with two wins in six games.
Welsh Fire’s campaign is getting worse with every match. Gary Kirsten’s side is finding new ways of losing games. They dropped Tom Banton and tried a different combination at the top of the order but the move didn’t pay off. No batter this season has managed to score a half-century. The team needs to get their act together if they want to give fans something to cheer about.
Predicted Playing XI: Joe Clarke (wk), Jacob Bethell, Josh Cobb (c), Ben Duckett, David Miller, Leus du Plooy, Matthew Critchley, Dwaine Pretorius, David Payne, Ish Sodhi, Jake Ball
Northern Superchargers have had some positives going into this match. Adams Hose and Adam Lyth have been very good with the bat. The form of skipper Du Plessis, though, has been a concern. In the bowling department, the veteran duo of Dwayne Bravo and Adil Rashid have been amongst the wickets but have not been economical at times. The Superchargers will look to put a clinical performance and register a win.
Predicted Playing XI: Faf du Plessis (c), Adam Lyth, David Willey, Adam Hose, Harry Brook, John Simpson (wk), David Wiese, Dwayne Bravo, Adil Rashid, Ben Raine, Craig Miles

The surface at Sophia Gardens has provided a fair bit of assistance to the bowlers and totals have been defended twice at the venue already. The team that wins the toss will be looking to bat first and any target above 150 will be a tough ask for the chasing side.
