Jasprit Bumrah is not be playing the second ODI against Australia in Indore. With a lead 0f 1-0 already in the series, India will miss the services of its premier pacer. It has been the second time in the month that the star pacer has taken a leave during the scheduled matches. The decision of Bumrah and the Indian management has led to a lot of questions from the fans.
The Indian cricket board announced the news by taking it to X (Formerly known as Twitter). In its statement, the Indian cricket board mentioned that Bumrah did not travel with the Indian team for the second ODI against Australia in Indore. The board confirmed that Bumrah went to visit his family by taking a short break from the team. Mukesh Kumar has been called as the replacement of Bumrah for the match.
“UPDATE: Mr Jasprit Bumrah did not travel with the team to Indore for the 2nd ODI against Australia. He has gone to visit his family and was given a short break by the team management. Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar has joined the team as Bumrah’s replacement for the 2nd ODI. Bumrah will join the team for the final ODI in Rajkot. #TeamIndia | #INDvAUS | @IDFCFIRSTBank,” said the Indian cricket board in its statement.

Second leave of the month for Jasprit Bumrah
Earlier this month, Bumrah flew back to India during the 2023 Asia Cup, as he was expecting the birth of his child. The fast bowler missed the match against Nepal and returned to the squad for the Super 4 stage matches. Since India will not be getting much free time for the next month, Bumrah decided to spend some time with his family.
India won the first ODI in Mohali and have a lead in the series currently. The fans are disappointed with the decision of Bumrah, as he did not travel with the team to Indore for an important match against Australia, which would have been a good opportunity for India to seal the series.
