India have been unstoppable in the World Cup, winning all seven of their matches so far to become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals. They have been the most impressive team in the tournament, decimating teams and performing well even when challenged by sides like New Zealand and England. India’s magnificent showings have earned them the tag of ‘the team to beat’.
India’s previous match against Sri Lanka perfectly encapsulated their journey in the World Cup so far. Batting first, India posted a dominant 357, then bowled out a hapless Sri Lankan side for a paltry 55. India’s bowling attack looked unstoppable, with Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah tormenting the Lankans.
India’s performance earned widespread praise and plaudits from fans and pundits alike, and deservedly so. However, India’s brilliance didn’t seem to impress Hasan Raza, a former Pakistani cricketer who represented his country in 7 Tests and 16 ODIs. Following the game between India and Sri Lanka, Raza alleged that the Apex Cricket Council and the Indian Cricket Board may have provided the Indian side with different balls that produced more swing and seam. His claims, which he made on Live TV drew widespread criticism from the cricketing community, including Aakash Chopra and Mitchell McClenaghan, who both questioned the legitimacy of the show.

Wasim Akram, the legendary Pakistani cricketer, is the latest to slam Hasan Raza for his comments. Akram, in another show, said that Raza’s comments are shameful and that such statements bring disgrace to the entire country.

“I have been reading about it for the last couple of days. I want to have the same thing these guys are having, sounds like fun because their mind is not there. You will embarrass yourself and you will get us humiliated as well in front of the whole world,” Akram said. He further elaborated on the process that is followed with regard to the selection of balls before an innings begins.
