Accommodations in Ahmedabad are practically sold out with over three months remaining, and airline prices are still sky-high. Such is the environment in which an India vs. Pakistan World Cup game will take place. The most anticipated match of the competition will take place on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium and will draw the largest audience of the competition because Pakistan will play an international game in India for the first time since 2013.

The stakes are incredibly high given the circumstances of the recent India and Pakistan conflicts. Sourav Ganguly believes the excitement surrounding India-Pakistan games has diminished due to India’s recent string of “one-sided” victories despite the fact that three of the previous four games between the two nations went down to the final over and produced thrilling finishes. Ganguly’s divisive evaluation has displeased fans, mostly from the other side of the border because Pakistan has strongly contested India dating prior to the T20 World Cup 2021, in which they recorded a 10-wicket victory.

Ganguly said, “There is a lot of hype in this match but the quality has not been that good for a long time because India kept on winning one-sided. Pakistan probably defeated India for the first time in the T20 World Cup in Dubai.”

“No doubt you have beaten us a lot”: Basit Ali on World Cup matches against India

Ganguly’s assertions shell-shocked former Pakistani batter, Basit Ali. Although Basit offered nothing but respect for Ganguly as well as his contributions to Indian cricket as a player in addition to being an administrator, he also provided some sobering information to serve as a reality check for the former India captain. The former Indian Cricket Board president Ganguly was a fantastic captain who helped many players develop, according to what he revealed via his YouTube channel.

Basit Ali said, “I don’t agree with him saying that India vs Pakistan matches are one-sided in favour of India. No doubt you have beaten us a lot in ICC World Cups before but that hasn’t been the case since 2017. We beat India at the T20 World Cup in UAE and last year in the Asia Cup, won one, and lost one. Yes, India defeated Pakistan at the T20 World Cup in Australia but that was purely because of Virat Kohli. He won it single-handedly. Clearly the best-ever T20 innings.”
