WATCH: Star singer Arijit Singh expresses his fondness for Virat Kohli during India vs Pakistan Clash in Ahmedabad

Ahead of the marquee India vs. Pakistan match in the ODI World Cup 2023, the Indian Cricket Board organised a musical event for fans in the stadium. In the ceremony, renowned singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Arijit Singh performed in front of more than one lakh spectators.

However, a video of Arijit’s performance is going viral on social media. While singing for fans, Arijit saw star India batter Virat Kohli practising near the boundary ropes. Arijit couldn’t hold back his feelings and fondness for Kohli as he said, “I love you, Virat.” This moment left Kohli in a split as he came up with a unique reaction. Kohli bowed down to Arijit and appreciated his feelings.

It’s worth noting that in the special ceremony for in-stadium fans, singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Arijit Singh, Neha Kakkar, Sukhvinder Singh, and Kailash Kher performed. The ceremony was not televised on television, as it was exclusively for stadium fans. The decision of the Indian Cricket Board has received mixed reactions from the fans.

India thrashed Pakistan by seven wickets

Talking about the game, India won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision went well with the team, as they bowled out Pakistan for a mere 191 runs. Pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja clinched two wickets each and left Pakistan in utter shock.

On the other hand, while chasing the target, India skipper Rohit Sharma displayed an amazing batting performance and won the game for India. Rohit, in his innings, scored 86 runs off 63 balls with the help of six fours and six sixes. He missed out on a well-deserved century, but his innings helped India win the game against their archrivals. Team India have now won eight of the eight games they have played against their arch-rivals, the Men in Green in the history of the ODI World Cup.
