Shubman Gill scored one of his best ODI hundred against Bangladesh in the Super 4 stage match against Bangladesh. The opening batter was almost like a one-man army against Bangladesh. On a slow pitch in Colombo, Gill played one of the best ODI knocks of his career and kept India alive in the game. In the absence of Virat Kohli, Gill took the responsibility of anchoring the chase.
Chasing 266, India lost the big wicket of Rohit Sharma in the very first over. In the absence of Virat, Tilak Varma came in at 3 and could not make a mark for himself. India found themselves 17/2 after 2.4 overs. The onus was on Gill to up the ante on a slow surface. The star batter was set in the middle but did not get enough support from the other end.

KL Rahul played a slow innings and did not help the Indian innings. The middle-order batter was dismissed for 19 runs in 39 balls.
