The 2023 World Cup will be held in India. It will be held for the first time in the country since 2011. India will want to break their 9-year world event drought in front of loyal home fans who would want to pack the stadiums to the rafters when they watch matches in India. The Narendra Modi Stadium will host the much anticipated India-Pakistan fixture which will be held on October 15. At present the hotel rates in Ahmedabad have skyrocketed.

Fans from India and all around the world have found a strange but viable alternative. The fans are looking at booking hospital beds in Ahmedabad which will give facilities such as breakfast and dinner. There are reports that state that the hotel room tariffs in Ahmedabad have gone through the roof and have become 20 times more Costs at present are in the range of 59000 to 72000. The report also stated that there is no availability of rooms at Narmada and Courtyard by Marriot come October 15.

My friends want to watch the India-Pakistan game and take advantage of the medical facilities too – Dr Paras Shah

“Since it’s a hospital they are asking for a full-body check-up and an overnight stay so both of their purposes are fulfilled – saving money on lodging and getting their health check-up done,” Dr Paras Shah, who works at a hospital in the city told Ahmedabad Mirror.  “These people are ready for any, from deluxe to suite room, whatever is offered to them. Since we have limited rooms, we are being judicious in taking such advance bookings from NRIs because our priority is patient care. Dr Shah added.

“I have inquiries from my friends from the USA to stay in my hospital as I have both special and general rooms. Their aim is to watch the Indo-Pak match and also take advantage of the medical facilities, since they want to stay in the hospital, and not at my home,” he further elaborated.  India will want to recreate history as they did in 2011 in front of packed crowds. India will be the sole host this time around unlike 2011.
