Team India faced off against Bangladesh in the first ODI on December 4, Sunday and lost the game by just 1 wicket on the back of Mehidy Hasan’s heroics. As things stand, the two teams faced off against each other in the second ODI on Wednesday and it was the Bangla Tigers who batted first in the epic match.

Bangladesh got off to a sepulchral start as they lost 6 wickets after gathering only 69 runs on the board. However, post that, it was all about Mehidy Hasan and Mohammad Mahmadullah as the duo put on an incredible 148-run partnership for the 7th wicket and lifted the team from the labyrinth. However, KL Rahul pulled off a stunning catch off Umran Malik’s delivery in the 47th over to dismiss the Bangla Tigers star batter Mahmadullah. Fans, who were in awe of the catch, eventually shared the video on social media and were unable to keep calm about the same.

To add more to the first innings, it was the stupendous partnership between Hasan and Mahmadullah that helped Bangladesh put on 271 runs on the board at the end of the first innings. Eventually, Hasan managed to reach the three-figure mark and carry on with his form from his previous encounter.

Prior to the start of the match, Rohit Sharma, who was walked off the field due to an injury scare mid-way through the first innings, said at the toss that the team would look to make an impact with the ball early in the innings. Further, Rohit admitted to playing the match with intent and said that the team underwent intense training ahead of the match.

“We have to play good cricket and I hope bowling first now, we can restrict them to a decent score and bat well. We have two changes. Axar Patel is back and he replaces Shahbaz Ahmed. Kuldeep Sen is not available for selection, so we have got Umran Malik in place of him,” Rohit was quoted as saying at the toss.

“Going back to the drawing board and understanding how we need to play on this conditions, just the basic talk about what we need to do with the bat and how to handle certain bowlers. Had good training session yesterday, and hopefully we can come out and replicate those learnings,” he added.
