The first of the five-match T20I series between India and South Africa was played at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. Things didn’t go well from India’s perspective as they lost the match by seven wickets against the visitors. Apart from that, the emotional disturbance was visibly seen in the stadium.

The first match of the series was fully loaded with all the elements needed for an amazing T20I match, be it a high-scoring affair, or a great show from players of both teams, it had it all. These things were enough to give a good dose of cricket to the Delhi fans. Although things went south for India in the end as South Africa easily registered a win of five wickets with the heroics of David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen.

Fans involved in a brawl during the match, and the police’s intervention required to stop

Other than the result of the match, there was an off-field video surfaced on social media, which is not quite a good scene from the perspective of cricket. A massive brawl between fans could be seen in this video. Two groups were seemingly involved in a fight with each other.

Eventually, police had to interfere to stop the same. The video has been shared widely on the internet. However, nobody had any information about the reason for the brawl.

As for the game, the hosts got a good start from their openers, i.e. Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ishan played a blistering knock of 76 runs off 48 balls followed by short but handy innings from Iyer, Pant, and Pandya in the middle-order. With all these efforts from the batting line-up, India managed to post a decent total of 211 in 20 overs.

Batting in the second inning, South Africa easily chased the target having seven wickets in the hand. Brilliant knocks from Miller and Van Der Dussen who scored 64 and 75 runs respectively ensured that their side ended up winning the game. India’s bowling line-up performed poorly while defending the target. All the bowlers conceded runs at an economy rate of more than 8 runs per over.
