Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has gone through a lot of things in his international career since his debut in 2016. Pandya has impressed everyone with his stellar performances on the international circuit. However, he had to go through a couple of bad phases as well.
Although the all-rounder has been good with both, his bowling, and batting, his injuries made it very hard for him to carry himself continuously with the Indian team. Nevertheless, Pandya made a remarkable comeback with both his cricket and captaincy skills in the Indian T20 League 2022.
Leading the league debutants Gujarat to the title, Pandya also showcased his heroics on a personal level. He contributed in all three departments of the game. Besides, he was the leading run-scorer for his side in this edition as well. Recently, the Gujarat-based all-rounder has revealed the experiences he has gone through when he was out of action.
“No one knows what I went through during the six months off. I got up at 5 am to make sure I trained and trained at 4 for the second time in a day to make sure I gave myself enough rest. a lot of sacrifices were made,” Pandya was quoted as saying to a sports media outlet.
To note, Pandya has played 55 T20Is for India since his debut, he has delivered both with his bat and ball. Batting in 37 innings of these matches, he scored 584 runs with an average of 21.62 and also scalped 42 wickets while bowling in 48 innings of these 55 matches. He has also one four-fer to his name in this format of the game.
Pandya has also had some excellent performances in the recently-concluded 2022 edition. He scored 487 runs in 15 games he played with an appreciable average of 44.27. This includes four half-centuries to his name. He also scalped eight wickets with the ball while bowling in 10 innings.
