India captain Rohit Sharma has become the first captain to declare innings against England in the era of Bazball. On Day 4 of the third Test match against England, he called Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan back. India posted a huge total of 557 runs to win for England. Before this Test game England has played 20 Test matches under Ben Stokes captaincy and Brendon McCullum as head coach. In 20 Test matches they have won 14 lost five and one resulted in a draw.
In the first innings, India scored 445 runs while England managed to score only 319 runs even though they were ahead in the match on Day 2. In the second innings of India, Rohit Sharma went early. But both young players Yashavi Jaiswal and Shubman Gillmanaged to score 155 runs in partnership as Shubman Gill scored 50 runs and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his third Test hundred.

Yashavi Jaiswal scores second double-century in Test cricket
But Yashavi Jaiswal’sinning was paused as he had to retire hurt due to back spasms in the last session on Day 3. At the start of Day 4, India received a shock as Shubman Gill was run out due to a mix-up between Kuldeep Yadav and him. Shubman Gill scored 91 runs which included nine fours and two sixes. Later Kuldeep Yadav was also dismissed by Rehan Ahmed on 27 runs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan went on to score a partnership of 172 runs from 158 balls as they took the game away from the hands of England. Jaiswal scored his second double-century while Sarfaraz Khan scored his second double-hundred. Sarfaraz Khan also becomes the fourth Indian to score a twin half-century on his Test debut.
India’s captain came out of the dressing room signalling to come back to both the batters as India declared the innings on 430 runs at the loss of 4 wickets.
