Fabian Allen shows fans and viewers his new celebration after bowling out Sikandar Raza

Jamaica Tallawahs on Tuesday knocked out Saint Lucia Kings in the Eliminator match of CPL 2023. The Jamaican team won the low-scoring contest by five wickets. With this loss, the tournament ended for Sikandar Raza and his men as they got knocked out. The star with the ball for the winning Jamaican team was Fabian Allen. Brandon King won the toss for Jamaica and sent Saint Lucia into bat. The match was played at the Providence Stadium at Guyana. The winners of the game would take on the losers from the game between Guyana and Trinbago Knight Riders.

Fielding first after winning the toss, Jamaica bowlers cast a vice-like grip on the Saint Lucia batting. Fabian Allen was bowling to the opposition skipper Sikandar Raza. The left-arm spinner got the ball to turn as it beat the edge and hit Raza’s off-stump. The bowler showed off his delight with a new celebration which left everyone in splits.

Jamaica won the game with 16 balls to spare and 5 wickets in hand

Put into bat, Saint Lucia Kings could only score 125 for 9 from their 20 overs. Jamaica was dealt with an early blow when Mohammad Amir went off the field injured early. Roston Chase was the top scorer for Saint Lucia with 40 runs. Chase got his runs from 36 deliveries with the help of four boundaries and a solitary six. Saint Lucia skipper Sikandar Raza scored 19 runs but none of the other batters could put up a fight. Fabian Allen got the wickets of Roston Chase and Sikandar Raza. The left-arm spinner also got the wickets of Alzarri Joseph and Matthew Forde. Chris Green got wickets as Imad Wasim got the wicket of opener Colin Munro for just 1 run.

Chasing 126 to win, Saint Lucia Kings fought back with Matthew Forde picking 4 wickets. Brandon King and Alex Hales began with a 43-run opening wicket stand. Forde got the big wicket of the Jamaican skipper for 30. Khary Pierre then got the scalp of Alex Hales for 24. Forde then made it 73/4 to raise hopes for the Kings. Steven Taylor was out for a 1st ball duck while Shamarh Brooks was out for 6. Imad Wasim and Raymon Reifer then added 42 runs for the 5th wicket. Reifer was not out 30 while Wasim scored 14. Jamaica won the game with 16 balls to spare and 5 wickets in hand.
