WATCH: England players arrive in Guwahati for ODI World Cup 2023

The defending champions England arrived in Guwahati for the ODI World Cup 2023. The 2019 ODI World Cup champions will take on India in the practice match in Guwahati before the ODI World Cup would start in Ahmedabad. England will play the season opener against New Zealand in Narendra Modi stadium, which will mark the beginning of the biggest cricket tournament.

England players, coaches, and support staff reached Guwahati international airport on Friday. The fans welcomed the England players with cheers. The players travelled to the team bus after their departure. The spinners like Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid walked from the terminal to the team bus which was waiting to carry them to the team hotel.

At the airport in England, they also spotted star players like Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Liam Livingstone, and others. Along with them, the coaching and support staff also received the welcome from the local people. But the players from England did not seem to be happy in the airport. All the players were probably tired of a long journey they had to take. The reports suggest that England players had hard time in the plane.

Jonny Bairstow’s Instagram story goes viral on social media

Jonny Bairstow had posted on his Instagram story of the economical class seat he got, which was uncomfortable in his view. It was chaotic in his words. Other players from England like Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Joe Root, and Moeen Ali were also disappointed about the journey. The players did not seem to be at their charming best, which is always the case with the English players wherever they travel.

England go into the tournament as one of the favorites to win. With a solid run on their back in the recent series against New Zealand, the defending champions seem to be confident about their chances in the tournament. The form of Bairstow and Root seems to be the only concern for England, who have an exciting talent pool in their squad.
