Harsha Bhogle is one of the most respected cricket journalists, not just in India but in the entire cricketing world. It is often that many quiet down and listens when the commentator speaks about cricket. A Pakistan journalist however is of a different opinion.

Virat Kohli attempting to throw a ball without having one in the match against Bangladesh has created somewhat of a controversy.

When speaking about the same Bhogle had tweeted, “On the fake fielding incident, the truth is that nobody saw it. The umpires didn’t, the batters didn’t and we didn’t either. Law 41.5 does make provision for penalising fake fielding (the umpire still has to interpret it thus) but no one saw it. So what do you do!

Kamran Yousaf, a Pakistani journalist however has refuted Bhogle’s claim and instead alleged that the Indian Cricket Board had a hand in the decision taken by the on-field umpires. In a strongly worded tweet, Yousaf said, “Because the Indian Cricket Board controls everything including the broadcaster and commentators so certainly, they won’t show us the stuff that hurt India!”

Bhogle, livid with the allegations, clapped back in s fierce manner and said, “I can understand ignorance but I am blown by how delusional and myopic you are. Luckily, your players don’t think like you and backed themselves today. Do wake up to a wider world where your performance determines your progress. You owe it to your readers and viewers.”

Yousaf who writes for Tribue and hosts a TV show The Review however was still insistent on claiming foul by the Indian Cricket Baord and said, “First, I am a big fan of your commentary. But I am blown by the fact that in this day and age with so many cameras around how one could miss that “fake fielding” incident? There has to be a plausible explanation.”

Bhogle also had some words for people complaining about wet ground in India- Bangladesh match. “I don’t think anyone can complain about the ground being wet. Shakib was right when he said it should favour the batting side. The umpires and curators have to keep the game going till it is not possible to do so. And they handled it very well so that minimum time was lost, “wrote Bhogle in the Twitter thread.

He also suggested Bangladesh fans to not look for excuses and accept the fact that Bangladesh were the second-best team in the match against India. “So, for my friends in Bangladesh, please don’t look at fake fielding or wet conditions as a reason for not reaching the target. If one of the batters had stayed till the end, Bangladesh could have won it. We are all guilty of it….when we search for excuses, we don’t grow, “ wrote Harsha Bhogle in the end of his Twitter thread.
