Virat Kohli was seen offering prayers at the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Indore. Indore was the venue of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test where India lost to Australia by nine wickets.  Kohli scored 22 and 13 in the third Test in both innings. He has not been able to get into the groove in Tests.

Here is the video-

KL Rahul also went to the same temple to offer prayers shortly after he got married to his wife Athiya Shetty. Rahul did not do well in the three innings that he batted, which included a solitary innings in Nagpur and two innings in Delhi. He scored 20 in Nagpur and 17 and 1 in the first innings and second innings in Delhi. Rahul was removed from the vice-captaincy post following poor returns.

The Test series currently stands at 2-1 after three Tests being played between India and Australia

Kohli has also not had a good outing in the series against Australia so far. He has not been able to thwart the plans of the spin trio of Nathan Lyon, Todd Murphy and Matt Kuhemann. In the first two Tests, he scored 12, 44 and 20 in the three innings. He has not been able to score well against spin, whether it be finger spin or wrist spin across formats.

India recorded victories by an innings and 132 runs in Nagpur and another win by 6 wickets in Delhi. Then they lost the third Test at Indore. Australia, by virtue of winning the Indore Test, have progressed to the Test Championship final, which will be held from June 7-11 at the Oval in England. The final will take place just a few days after the conclusion of the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League.

India lost the last edition of the Test Championship to New Zealand in 2021, when they played the final at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, where the Kiwis mauled the Indians by 8 wickets and took the Test mace. Notably, India have not won a World event since 2013 after they won the Champions Trophy under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
