Though he had a solid season in the Hundred, it was not enough for Lewis Gregory to find a home in the SA 20 League. He has scored most of his runs in England, which would have been a reason for not landing in a team. Also, when he got a chance in the Big Bash League, he had little impact on the tournament in Australia.

Age also would have been another reason for the snub as he is on the higher side of his thirties. Franchises would prefer picking a younger player in his place.
