Ravindra Jadeja has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since 2012. The allrounder has been the mainstay of the ‘Yellove Army’ ever since he has been a part of the side. He has played 150 games for the MS Dhoni–led franchise. The all-rounder has made 1520 runs with the bat and picked up 116 wickets with the ball. His best figures of 5-16 came when he wore the Chennai jersey.
In an interview with Star Sports, Jadeja talked about the atmosphere in the CSK setup. “CSK management never gives you pressure to perform. They never make you feel low, there’s no senior-junior treatment in the team” he said. The word from the commentary box and former CSK players is that the atmosphere is like family. The MS Dhoni captained side likes to have shirt meetings, prefer to express themselves on the field and are a very close-knit unit.

When Jadeja talked about CSK’s atmosphere in the dressing room, it created a lot of uproar on social media. Fans were quick to point out the feud that happened between Jadeja and CSK in the 2022 IPL. Jadeja was given captaincy in the 2022 edition by the CSK management, but it was taken away from him halfway through the season and MS Dhoni was back at the helm.
When Jadeja captained CSK, It really affected his all-round game. He scored 116 runs and picked up five wickets through the season. Jadeja also did not play the whole season as the CSK management at that time said that he was sidelined due to injury. This led to a divide between player and franchise which was resolved later. MS Dhoni and Jadeja had a long chat before the 2023 edition and sorted things out.
MS Dhoni has led CSK to four titles in IPL. CSK are one of the most successful and consistent franchises in the IPL. They have made it to the playoffs 11 times in the tournament. There are several reports stating that 2023 will be MS Dhoni’s last IPL season. CSK will want to give a grand farewell to him.
