India put a fine batting display in the warm up game against Australia as the runs were scored by KL Rahul who smashed a stoke filled 57 off 33 balls with six fours and three sixes. Rohit Sharma looked to take on the bowling but perished to Ashton Agar for just 15.
Virat Kohli started off on a bright note as he hit a six and a four but his wicket was claimed by Mitchell Starc. Suryakumar Yadav came in at number four as he continued form where he left off from the T20I’s against South Africa.
He looked in sublime touch as he raced to a half century in just 33 balls with six fours and one maximum. It was Suryakumar Yadav at his usual best, as he played lot of paddle shots and sweeps through the course of his innings, but what made headlines was a funny statement that was caught on the stump mic and left everyone in splits.
After racing to the milestone of a half century, Suryakumar told Axar Patel at the other end that he is in no mood to taken on the bowling which was clearly heard. To his surprise, the was dismissed on the very next delivery.
The Men in Blue finished on a strong note as they put up 186-7 on the board at the end of the 20 overs. India rode on a quick cameo by Dinesh Karthik who scored a quickfire innings of 20 off 12 balls with one four and a six.
India won a thriller of a game in the end by six runs due to 4 wicket haul from Mohammed Shami who changed the momentum of the match in the final over. Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 1 wicket for 28 runs in his three overs and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 2 for 20 from his three over spell.
