They got to the total largely due to, Max Bryant who made 31 off 14 balls, with two fours and three sixes and Sam Hain, who made an unbeaten 21 off 16 balls, with two fours. The best bowlers for the Scorchers were Behrendorff, who picked up 2-26 in his four overs and Mathew Kelly, who picked up 2-37 in his four overs.

In the second innings, Opener Stevie Eskinazi got run out comically. He came down the pitch to clip an inswinging delivery towards mid-wicket. He missed the ball and it rolled towards backward point. The batters were confused in their calling and Cameron Bancroft put a dive at the keeper’s end and was safe, but the throw came at the bowler’s end. Eskinazi was stunned and sluggish in his running and a sharp throw from Bryant meant that he could not make it back to the crease.

The Scorchers, meanwhile, have won the final of BBL season 12. The Heat have not been able to win a title since 2012-13. In 2013, Scorchers and Heat squared off and Heat won the final. Since 2013, Scorchers have won four BBL titles, this is their fifth title. The BBL has seen wonderful cricket being played in the 12th edition and the marquee Australian players such as David Warner, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne have made the season more memorable.
