The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has been buzzing. It has been electric and had some amazing nail bitters so far. The last game was an absolute thriller against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium at Jaipur. RR won the toss and chose to bowl. In what turned out to be a low-scoring thriller. LSG eked RR by just 10 runs to pick up a valuable two points.
On the sidelines, Ravichandran Ashwin put out a funny image of Yuzvendra Chahal making a phone call on his bed and asked social media as to what Chahal was talking about. The fans had their A game and came up with a lot of interesting answers on social media. Ashwin and Chahal have had a wonderful social media game and they provide a lot of entertainment with their posts. Ashwin has a You Tube channel which always leaves the fans hooked.
Kyle Mayers top scored for LSG with 51 off 42 balls to help his side win a tense match against RR
Coming to the match between RR and LSG, KL Rahul made a slow moving 39 off 32 balls with four fours and one six. Kyle Mayers continued his good form in IPL 2023 and stroked a good 51 off 42 balls with four fours and three sixes. LSG were racing and the score was 82. That was when disaster struck as RR came back with four quick wickets. LSG were soon tottering at 104-4.
LSG somehow got to 154-7 in their 20 overs thanks to important contributions from Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran. Stonis made 21 off 16 balls with two fours. Pooram hit 29 off 20 balls with two fours and one six. In the second innings, RR got off to a good start courtesy Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Both of them made steady 40s at the top. But after both of them were sent back by Stonis, RR could not come back into the match.
The LSG bowlers came back very well and took wickets at regular intervals to peg RR back. It was not a good beginning for the Sanju Samson led side at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium. It was a case of so near yet so far for RR as they could not get their act together with the bat against LSG.
