Team India is set to play its first Super Fours match of the Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday, September 10 at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The Men in Blue, who advanced to the semi-final phase with a comprehensive win over Nepal, will now lock horns against Pakistan for another high-voltage encounter. The group stage clash between the arch-rivals was abandoned due to rain and now the fans are looking forward to a full game packed with enthralling action and emotions.

Meanwhile, ahead of the crucial match, India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was seen taking batting practice in the nets. Siraj is known for his fiery pace and ability to take wickets in the powerplay. The Hyderabad cricketer has been one of the key pace bowlers for India in the past few years. However, realising the importance of contributing with the bat as well, Siraj started working hard to improve his batting skills.

Siraj sets an example for tail-enders

India’s tail-enders have often been criticised for not being able to make a valuable contribution with their bat. If the team gets a little support from their lower order, it can make a big difference in the overall team score. Siraj’s decision to improve his batting skills is a testament to his commitment towards becoming a complete cricketer and will surely set an example for other bowlers.

With crucial matches and the ODI World Cup coming up, it would be helpful for Team India if they get help from the bowlers in the batting department as well. However, Siraj’s primary focus will be on bowling, which he has been doing well in recent times. In the Asia Cup match against Nepal, Siraj conceded 61 runs in his 9.2 overs but took three wickets including their top scorer Aasif Sheikh (58 off 97). Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the squad for the continental event has boosted India’s pace attack.
