Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese legendary footballer, officially joined the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for a whopping annual salary of INR 1,770 crore, in a much-needed turnaround post the fracas with his previous club, Manchester United. To add more, the club took to social media to announce the arrival of the legendary footballer in the early hours on December 31, Saturday.

The club’s statement read that it would be a start of a new era for the middle-east and expressed their delight in roping in a player of legendary stature. Saying that it would inspire the aspiring footballers of the nation, the club hoped to have a fruitful season with the Portuguese star in the camp.

“History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome @Cristiano to your new home @AlNassrFC,” the statement read.

Can Cristiano Ronaldo set things right after Old Trafford disaster?

Ronaldo would hope to set things around and look for a turnaround after having a disastrous year both personally and professionally. To comment more, the footballer lost his son earlier in the year and his interview with Piers Morgan regarding Erik ten Hag and the Red Devils saw him getting his contract getting terminated soon after.

Much to the surprise of his fans, Ronaldo was rested for the quarter-final clash in the FIFA World Cup 2022 and many opined that it might be the end of a glorious career. However, with a new contract in his hand, Ronaldo would hope to rewrite the script and sort things around, banking on a possible comeback.

Al-Nassr, on the other hand, would hope for a splendid season with the legend in their camp and would look to bring colour to the middle-eastern football, possibly a start of something special for the country that defeated Argentina in the recently concluded multinational tournament.
