India faced a disappointing loss at the hands of England in the 20-20 World Cup semi-final. The poor world cup campaign could be attributed to India’s poor opening and under-par bowling performance. One department however that did not disappoint however was number 2 and number 3 batting.

Both Virat Kohli and Suryakkumar Yadav were in sensational form at the World Cup. Kohli ended the tournament with 296 runs while Yadav made an equally impressive 239 with a sensational strike rate of 189.68.

While Kohli has been given a break after the mega event, Suryakumar continues to trouble bowlers with his fiery batting in New Zealand. After the first match between India and New Zealand was abandoned due to rain, Suryakumar made sure to entertain the fans with his sensational batting.

Coming onto bat at number 2, the right-hand batter smacked the Kiwi bowlers all across the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. The 32-year-old made a massive 111 runs in just 51 deliveries at a mind-boggling strike rate of 217.6.

In his inning-defining knock, the right-hand batter smashed 11 fours and 7 sixes all around the ground. Social media was understandably buzzing after Suryakumar Yadav’s fiery batting and soon netizens started to give their reactions to SKY’s knock.

As for the other batters, it wasn’t a good day as everyone else looked like a step below Suryakumar Yadav. Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan weer handed the opening duties after India were asked to set up a target. Pant however failed again as he could only make 6 off 13. Ishan played good innings of 36 but could not turn it into a big total.

In fact, the rest of Team India could only make 69 runs off 69 balls against New Zealand. On the back of Suryakumar’s otherworldly innings, India went on to set 191 runs on the board and would hope to defend it.
