Rohit Sharma turns 36 today. The India skipper is one of the most prolific batters for India in white ball cricket. The right-hander has made 9825 runs in ODIs. He has 30 hundreds and 48 fifties in white ball cricket. The 36-year-old has also racked up three double centuries in ODIs. His career took a massive upturn in 2013 when he was asked by MS Dhoni to open the innings in ODIs.
Rohit has had a wonderful relationship with Yuzvendra Chahal. The two have known each other since their days at Mumbai Indians and then have played together for India. To which, Ritika replied, ‘You stole my husband so might as well steal my caption’. Chahal had also written Rohitaa Sharmaa instead of Rohit Sharma. Chahal had said in an interview on Breakfast with Champions said that he lovingly addresses Rohit that way. Rohit is one of the most stylish batters to watch in World Cricket currently. The Mumbaikar loves to play the pull shot and it is one of his favourite shots to score off.
The India skipper has a lazy elegance when he bats. This has been discussed by the cricketing fraternity over and over again. They are of the opinion that he has a lot of time to play his shots. But Rohit has said that he is like any other normal batter and that he does not have the extra time to play his shots. The right-hander also has scored four hundreds in T20Is.
Rohit’s next biggest assignment will be to lead India either to a triumph in the Test Championship final against Australia or take India to a third World Cup win on home soil. He has not been able to win a trophy and India lost the ODI series against Australia just before the IPL.
