Brett Lee makes huge call on Australian player after LSG vs PBKS game in IPL 2023

The match between the Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings was a very high scoring encounter. The match produced the second highest total in the IPL as LSG made 257-5 in their 20 overs. In reply, PBKS made 201 and lost to LSG by 57 runs. It was a hemorrhage of runs at Mohali. LSG were threatening with bat and ball as they did not allow PBKS to run away with the game. Brett Lee made a big call on a certain Australian player after the game.

Marcus Stonis had a wonderful overall impact in the game. The Australian all-rounder made a game changing 72 off 40 balls with six fours and five sixes. With the ball he picked up 1-21 in his short spell of 1.5 overs. This is what Lee said after the game on Jio Cinema. “He is a captain in the making. He has got a great cricket brain. Look how relaxed he is around the team. He is a freak, that is the best way to describe him. He performs with the bat and the ball, and his throwing arm is very powerful,”

“He also takes good catches. He is a complete package. But tonight, he showed his class. This was a time when the team went from a low, slow and hard wicket at home to a wicket where the ball was coming nicely on the bat. So, he definitely cashed in tonight,” Lee added. Even in the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, he showed his worth. The right hander brought LSG back into the game with 65 off 30 balls.

His six fours and five sixes combined with Nicholas Pooran’s assault of 62 off just 19 balls with four fours and seven sixes. These middle order contributions helped LSG beat RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium by 1 wicket. It was a cliffhanger of a game that was decided off the last ball. Stonis has been an impecable part of the IPL and has played for quite a few IPL franchises.
