NOT Rashmika Mandanna, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s first choice for Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal movie was a leading Bollywood actress!

For the first time, Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna collaborate in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. Surprisingly, the director disclosed to Komal Nahta that Parineeti Chopra was first chosen as the leading actress for the movie.

He said that when Parineeti first found out she wasn’t cast, she expressed disappointment. He confessed, “Actually, galti mera hi hai. Ho sake toh maaf karo mujhe” (It’s my fault). I signed Parineeti Chopra 1.5 years prior to the shoot, but for some reason, I didn’t think she had Geetanjali. A certain number of characters and logos are not meant to be (set nahi hota hai).”

The director continued, “I don’t believe in auditions; main kabhi audition main nahi karta. I only follow my instincts. I am aware of that. Since the beginning, I have been fond of her acting and have always wanted to cast her as Preeti in Kabir Singh, but alas, that did not work out. That was overdue. Working with her has always been my dream. She is aware of what I told her. I apologized, saying that nothing could compare to the movie. I’m choosing to move forward with another artist as a result. She felt awful, but she understood why I was saying that.”

In the film “Animal,” Rashmika Mandanna plays Geetanjali, Ranbir’s girlfriend whom he later marries and shares a family with. Ranbir Kapoor plays Ranvijay. Triptii Dimri plays the part of Ranbir’s adulterous liaison, while Anil Kapoor plays his father. Bobby Deol portrays a crucial antagonist who is out to exact revenge on Ranvijay for the death of his brother.

“Animal,” though it received mixed reviews from critics and some viewers, has become one of the most financially successful movies of 2023. The film, which debuted on December 1st, has now earned over ₹500 crore in India. Sandeep Reddy Vanga has officially announced “Animal Park,” the upcoming sequel, in which Ranbir is said to play two roles.
