On March 1, 2024, the movie Operation Valentine, starring Varun Tej and Manushi Chhillar, finally hit theatres. The narrative centres on a noteworthy incident that took place in Pulwama in 2019. Shakti Pratap Singh is the film’s director, and Sony Pictures and Sandeep Madda provided funding for the endeavour. Now available are the initial reviews from critics and audiences.

Netizens have praised Varun Tej greatly for bringing this incredible cinematic treasure. The film has received praise for its excellent aerial combat sequences, remarkable production value, and breathtaking visuals. Some have, however, also called attention to the unimpressive plot and the characters’ lack of emotional resonance. Meanwhile, many netizens have also given some bad reviews on social media for the film. Operation Valentine is a compelling story that highlights the tenacity of Air Force officers in the face of great adversity while paying tribute to the bravery and valour of our real-life heroes. The protagonist of the tale is Wing Commander Arjun, also known by his codename Rudra, who defies orders from his superiors and ends up at odds with them. As the narrative progresses, the movie explores the intricacies of contemporary warfare and the sacrifices made by the armed forces.

Megastar Padma Vibhushan Chiranjeevi praised Varun Tej and mentioned the excellent work of Team Operation Valentine during the pre-release event for the movie. She also said, “I’m glad Varun Tej isn’t following me. He has made his own opportunities and is experimenting with various genres. He displayed beautiful contrasts in his movies. Although there have been other military-themed movies, Operation Valentine is the first aerial action movie in Telugu. I was astounded by Top Gun Maverick’s visuals when I saw it last year. I am overjoyed that these guys produced a Telugu movie of this calibre.”
