‘No IPL retirement till next 10 yrs now’- Fans react as MS Dhoni undergoes successful knee surgery

MS Dhoni, the Chennai Super Kings skipper, underwent a successful left-knee surgery. The CSK management said in a report by Cricbuzz that the surgery was conducted superbly and it went well. Dhoni is also doing fine. As per Cricbuzz, MS Dhoni was expected to remain in the hospital for another two days, but late on Thursday evening, it emerged that MS Dhoni had been discharged.
“I spoke to him after the operation. I cannot explain what the surgery is about but we have been told it is a keyhole surgery. He sounded fine in our conversation,” Kasi Viswanathan said to Cricbuzz. The CSK CEO said he had spoken to Dhoni right after the surgery on Thursday morning. Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala a specialist in sports medicine was responsible for the operation. He previously had treated Rishabh Pant with the same type of issue.

MS Dhoni’s exact timeline for full recovery is not known. But on an estimate, MS Dhoni will be back to full fitness in two months’ time. The CSK skipper said after the IPL 2023 final that he would like to come back and play in another IPL season just for the sake of the fans. The next mega auction will most likely be held after IPL 2024. So it seems that MS Dhoni will play another season set things up for CSK and maybe finally call it quits after IPL 2024.
The CSK management also knows that they have to outline plans after MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni has already created history in CSK. The Yellove Army has won five titles. CSK are now on par with Mumbai Indians in terms of IPL titles. The Yelllove Army have made it to the IPL playoffs 12 times, which is the most by any franchise. MS Dhoni has been associated with CSK since 2008. The only time he went away from the team was when it was banned for two years for alleged match-fixing.
The IPL 2023 was famous for MS Dhoni’s phenomenon as stadiums turned yellow. The fans showed their love to him across the country. There were many reports that the 2023 IPL will be MS Dhoni’s last. IPL 2023 from the fans’ point of view has been great to watch.

That was pretty fast. Looks like MS Dhoni wants to get back playing cricket much sooner than we expected. The guy could have easily enjoyed his family time but still wants to challenge himself and play for atleast one more season in the IPL. He really loves CSK so much.
