‘Moment hai bhai moment hai’ – Fans react as Arjun Tendulkar makes his debut for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023

In the first game of Super Sunday in Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL), Mumbai Indians (MI) face arch-rival Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. In the 22nd game of the tournament, five-time champions are playing without their regular skipper Rohit Sharma as he is reportedly unwell. Although, it is a historic match as two players are making debuts for the Men in Blue. Arjun Tendulkar and Duan Jansen will play their first game in IPL for Mumbai Indians.

Tendulkar son of legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar will be looking to make his mark with the bowl. He has been with MI for a long time and will finally make his debut at his home ground. The pace allrounder had a great domestic season with the Goa team and he will be looking to replicate his performance at the biggest stage of the T20 league.

The 23-year-old left-arm pace allrounder has played seven first-class matches and nine T20 games for Goa and has impressed the fans with his performance. In 9 T20 games, Tendulkar has clinched 12 wickets at an average of 16.50. He also has been economical as he has an economy rate of 6.60.

Duan Jansen makes his IPL debut

In yet another change Mumbai Indians played Duan Jansen in place of Jason Behrendroff. The identical twin of South Africa allrounder Marco Jansen will make his IPL debut for the five-time champions. Jansen has been phenomenal in the domestic circuits of South Africa. He has clinched 24 wickets in 30 games and will be looking to make his mark in the cash-rich league.

Notably, Arjun Tendulkar and Sachin Tendulkar are the first father-son duo to represent any team in the Indian Premier League. On the other hand, Marco Jansen and Duan Jansen are also the first twins to play in the IPL. Talking about the game, Mumbai Indians will be kin to continue their dominance against the Knight Riders. On the other hand, KKR will look to register their first victory at the Wankhede after 2012.
