Shubman Gill has become one of the best batters for India over the last few months. The man from Punjab has scored a T20I hundred against New Zealand. He did not spare the Kiwis in the recent ODI series in India. He became the fifth Indian to smash a double hundred in ODIs. Gill also made his second Test Hundred against Australia which was his first ton at home.
Recently, he has stated in a interview that if he wanted someone as a opening partner, it would have to be Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar is one of Indian cricket’s greats and still leads the run scoring charts in Test and ODI cricket even after his retirement in 2013. Tendulkar has scored 51 hundreds in Test matches and 49 hundreds in ODIs. He also became the first Indian to hit a double century in the 50 over format.
When Gill made this statement fans said that he is trying to get on Tendulkar’s good side so that he can become Tendulkar’s father-in-law and also become wife of Sara Tendulkar. Gill and Sara were rumored to be having a relationship with each other. The fans said Gill wants to marry Sara at any cost.
Tendulkar had a very celebrated cricket career for over 20 years. He was called as the God of cricket. The grandiose run machine of Indian cricket scored a mountain of runs in his career and when the runs came of his bat, it came down like flowing water. The master blaster has scored 18,426 runs in the 50 over format. He has an average of 44.83 and a strike rate of 82.63. He has played 463 ODIs for India.
When it comes to Gill, the right hander has scored 1311 runs in his short 24 ODI match career. The 23-year-old has an average of 65.55 and an average of 107.10. Gill has four hundreds in the 50-over format. He like Tendulkar has a double hundred in white ball cricket. If the duo would have batted together it would have been one of the dream partnerships for the Men in Blue.
