‘Match hi nahi karana chaiye Hyderabad main’ – Fans react to Hyderabad Cricket Association’s latest demand to Indian Cricket Board

The Indian cricket fans are witnessing some top-notch action on the field during the Asia Cup 2023 tournament. The focus of every cricket team and their fans will be on the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. India is set to host the 2023 World Cup which begins on 5th October. The first game of the tournament will witness a re-match of the 2019 World Cup final. Defending champions England take on runners-up New Zealand at Ahmedabad in the opening contest.

The cricket fans in Hyderabad will witness three games being played at the ground during the ODI Cricket World. The Indian Cricket Board had allocated two Warm-Up games to be played in Hyderabad. As per reports doing the rounds, Hyderabad has expressed concerns regarding hosting warm-up games on 29th September. The reason behind this is the festivities during the said period. 28th September will witness Ganesh Visarjan as well as the festival of Milad-Un-Nabi.

Hyderabad Cricket body comes up with a request to the Indian Cricket Board

Pakistan takes on New Zealand in their 1st warm-up game at Hyderabad the following day which is 29th September. The Hyderabad Cricket Body has asked the Indian Cricket Body to change the venues as there could be security issues. The security personnel are expected to be manning the safety and security during the two festivals on the same day. Hyderabad is hosting both of Pakistan’s warm-up matches. After playing New Zealand on the 29th, Pakistan will play Australia on the 3rd of October. Hyderabad is also scheduled to host three World Cup matches.

Pakistan open their World Cup 2023 campaign with a game against the Netherlands at Hyderabad on 6th October. This will be followed by two back-to-back matches at the venue. 9th October will witness the Netherlands and New Zealand locking horns. The next day, Sri Lanka and Pakistan play out the final game to be held at Hyderabad. World Cup 2023 has already seen a few games being moved as far as dates were concerned. India and Pakistan were supposed to be played on 15th October but the game was preponed to 14th October. The reason behind the move was due to Navratri festival which will be observed with fervour in Gujarat.
