Luka Modric drops big statement on Lionel Messi ahead of semi-final clash against Argentina

Luka Modric, the Croatian and Real Madrid legend, banged the drums ahead of the semifinal tie. Modric not only appreciated Lionel Messi but also praised Argentina ahead of the game. However, he also boosted the morale of the Croatian side and hoped to defeat the South American country in the last-four stage.

Talking to the Spanish publication, the Real Madrid midfielder said:

“I can’t wait for Argentina. Messi is their best, it will be difficult against him, but we are ready. We want to play the best match of our lives, I hope for the final.”

Boasting their superior record in terms of never say die attitude and hard work, the Croatian skipper re-iterated that they have the similar DNA to that of Real Madrid.

“The Croatian national team has the same DNA as Real Madrid. It always goes to the end and never gives up.” he said.

Croatia will play Argentina in the first semifinal of the FIFA World Cup 2022 on 14th December (12:30 AM IST) at Lusail Stadium. In the second semifinal of the FIFA World Cup 2022, France are set to host Morocco on 15th December (12:30 AM IST) at Al Bayt Stadium.
