India beat South Africa by 106 runs to level the series 1-1

The Indian team came back amazingly to win the final T20I in Johannesburg on Thursday. South Africa was outplayed in all the departments of the game as India levelled the series 1-1.

Suryakumar Yadav led the batting charge for India with his 4th century in T20I cricket. The 33-year-old enthralled the huge crowd in Johannesburg as he hit the ball deep into the stands.

South Africa decided to bowl after winning the toss. Three changes were in store as the home team had decided to rest a few players after the game in Gqeberha. India on the other hand went in with the same side. Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ishan Kishan were benched just like in the previous game.

Team India registers easy win over South Africa –

Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the Indian Cricket Team a good start as the pair added 29 runs for the first wicket. Jaiswal in particular was severe on debutant pacer Nandre Burger who was seen bowling at 150 KPH.

Keshav Maharaj was brought into the attack in the 3rd over and the left-arm –spinner was quick to make a difference. The 34-year-old struck twice in two balls to first remove Gill for 12 and Tilak Varma for a duck.

It was then the Suryakumar Yadav show as he went after the South African bowlers to score his century from 54 balls. With 8 sixes and 7 fours, there was no shortage of entertainment for the fans in the Bull Ring. Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed with 60 runs from just 41 deliveries.

Chasing 202 to win, South Africa was never in the race thanks to India’s good bowling. Mohammed Siraj began with a maiden over as Mukesh Kumar gave 14 runs in the 2nd over. Matthew Bretzeeke was out bowled for 4 as he chopped the ball back onto his stumps off Mukesh Kumar.

Reeza Hendricks was run out when Siraj caught the opener short of his crease with a direct hit. Arshdeep Singh then deceived Heinrich Klassen with a slower ball to dismiss him for 5. Ravindra Jadeja joined the party when he dismissed Aiden Markram for 5 caught by Jaiswal.

Birthday boy Kuldeep Yadav celebrated his big day with the wicket of Donovan Ferreira for 12. The left-arm spinner then bowled Keshav Maharaj and trapped Burger LBW to slide the home team to 94/8. Lizaad Williams became wicket number 4 for Kuldeep before bowling David Miller to claim his 5th wicket and win the game.
