South Africa clinched a convincing victory against New Zealand by a whopping 190 runs in match 32. While South African fans rejoiced, it was the Pakistani supporters who celebrated the most. Why? Pakistan had been backing South Africa, hoping for a win, as they desperately sought a place in the World Cup semi-finals.

Pakistan’s journey took a positive turn as they managed to keep their hopes alive by defeating Bangladesh with a remarkable seven-wicket margin. This not only improved their net run rate but also lifted them to the coveted fifth position on the points table.

Pakistan’s destiny is no longer solely in its control. They must win their final two matches and rely on other match outcomes. If New Zealand and Afghanistan face setbacks in their upcoming games, Pakistan could sneak into the semi-finals.

Road to semifinals: Pakistan’s nail-biting journey!

New Zealand’s recent loss to South Africa in match 32 in Pune has given Pakistan an opportunity. They need to beat New Zealand in their upcoming clash and hope that Sri Lanka defeats New Zealand in another game.

To improve their chances further, they need Australia to lose their remaining matches against England, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. This may be challenging for Afghanistan and Bangladesh, so Pakistan is eager to secure a win against New Zealand.

Even if Australia qualifies, Pakistan can advance to the semi-finals if New Zealand loses all their matches. If New Zealand wins one match, Babar Azam and Co. will need to secure big victories to boost their run rate and overtake New Zealand.

Pakistan’s next game is against New Zealand on November 4 in Bengaluru, and their current standing is fifth on the points table with 6 points. They have two matches left, against New Zealand and England.
